P.CARE Fundraising @ Bintang Plaza

Ok, we'd our Project CARE Bintang Fundraising booth at Bintang Plaza (again) - in conjunction with Malaysia National Day.
We only took 3 days to plan and organize this event, and 1 day of approval from Bintang Management (it's fast right? Thanks to the management staff).
What are the activities?
1. Information booth
-Informations and flyers-
2. Video screening and photo exhibition
-I'd edited 3 new versions of the video, finished around 4.30am morning of the event day-
3. 50cent per cm2 SolarPanel
-write and paste donator's name on this solar panel.-
4. Banner painting
-our theme is love Malaysia.-
This is the end product.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, today goes well for Project CARE. We collected RM300+ within 9 hours, reach our initial target for the day. Congratulations to Project CARE!! Let us finish the project asap.
After the event, waiting for Catherine.
One more 'out of topic' thing: I think I'd look and stared at Speedy for more than 50 times. Why? It's because of the annoying Hannah Montana The Movie DVD. I'd took 2 days to think whether to buy it or not. Of course I will buy if the price is cheap (it cost RM59.90 for single disc ver), but due to the overpriced DVD, I rather pay more and bid the BluRay Combo on eBay which comes with Standard DVD and Digital Copy.
Prep of P.CARE fundraising booth
Six of us - Project CARE members, went to Bintang Plaza to set up our booth for tomorrow's fundraising event.
Well, to tell the truth, I'm kinda mad when we decided to open another fundraising booth again for our solar panel project. It's because I've few assignments due few days later, and there's one I haven't started yet. Oh well, I can't do anything but to follow the group's plan - in charge the booking of venue.
Small discussion.
Anyway, Next topic: KFC!
We had our dinner at KFC before the set up of our booth. And I've ordered the new KFC snack:
"Strimp Stix"
I totally in love with this new item! It's very crispy, with juicy full strimp content. As usual, I'll apply tomato sauce for fried foods, but NO for this time! It's tasty enough to just eat it without any alien toppings.
It will be a favourite snack for strimp/seafood lovers.
CV! Exco 09 Appreciation Dinner
Date: 25th August 2009 (Thesday)
Time: 7.00-9.00pm
Venue: Cafe Rosita [Dynasty Hotel]
Well, I really like the foods there. The restaurant provides wide range of food selections including worldwide salad, local and international desserts, local and western foods, etc... and it's all HALAL!
I ate lamb, chicken, fish tofu 'sumbat', vege... (no beef for me! but heard it's nice~)
My most favourite food there: Sweet & Sour Fish!!!
The fish is soooo crispy! Along with thick sweet and sour sauce, yummy!!
P/S: the price is around RM30+ per person (excluding tax). But we managed to get discount due to large number of people.
CV! Exco 08/09 Family Photos!!
Before we left, we took another shots at the lobby area.
Overall, I'm satisfied with the arranged Appreciation Dinner. Thanks Aileen @ The Queen!!
After dinner @ Coffee Bean
Since I'm full already, and I don't really like to drink coffee, so I went for a small shopping trip at Bintang while the rest stay and hang out at Coffee Bean, sofa area.
Mini cinema @ Krokop
Introduce a 'new discovered' Mini Cinema at Krokop.
Catherine brought me, Suhas, Jun Kai, Anjali and Jenny to this mini cinema.
We're allowed to bring outside food and drink into the room - or you can also purchase on the counter, so I brought some chips there.
They provide wide range of movies (from old to new), and what's more, it's ALL ORIGINAL with authentic/license sticker.
The biggest room can fit 8 person, cost RM27.00 for 1 movie (RM32.00 for 3 hours movie).
Smaller room cost RM22.00, but not sure how many seat available in the room.
We decided to watch TWILIGHT (most of us, including myself, haven't watch it yet).
I like the movie so much! Unexpected good! Can't wait to watch the second volume of the film.
Overall the mini cinema is ok. LCD screen tv with sofa and nice sound system/speaker.
It's a good place to hang out with friends and watch movie together.
You may bring your own movie to screen at the cinema, but please make sure it's ORIGINAL!
MERCY mission 1 (Sg. Liam Bakong)
My first MERCY mission to Sg. Liam Bakong.
We (5 of us) departed from MERCY office around 9.15am, and reach there around 9.45am.
We removed all the donations from van to the desk after greeting with the villagers.
The village's longhouse was burned down few months ago, 96 doors (family) lost everything, but fortunately no one were harmed in this event.
Unfortunately the tuai rumah was not there, so we leave the village early.
