Florence + The Machine - Ceremonials Australian tour 2012: Perth

Florence Welch and her band were here on 17th May 2012 :)

Well at first I received a letter from StudentEdge, wasn't sure what I won until two tickets dropped onto my palm - I was freakin' surprised and couldn't believe that it was the General Admission - Front tickets to the show. The competition was held a while ago and they asked "if I were to form a band, what would I name and why". To tell the truth, I forgot what I'd answered.
With no costume change (well, if the jacket that she wore during the first few songs counts, then two), simple stage with the help from lightings and two side screens, the show was mainly focused on her beautiful vocal, I was really impressed with this simple but amazing show. She's really talented (her vocal is beautiful), adorable (she's quite funny, and I love how she interacted with the audience and even her band) and professional (well, she eventually broke down in the middle of "Breaking Down", she stopped the performance and restarted the song again, lol).

Here's the setlist of the show:

1.Only If For A Night
2.What The Water Gave Me
3.Between Two Lungs
4.Cosmic Love
5.Spectrum
6.Heartlines
7.Leave My Body
8.Seven Devils
9.Breaking Down
10.Shake It Out
11.Dog Days Are Over [she asked audience to keep jumping during the chorus]
12.Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up)
ENCORE:
13.Never Let Me Go
14.No Light No Light

Another note is that she accidentally tripped backstage after the main show, she came up to the stage and performed two more songs for the encore... and jumped on stage several times while performing the last song "No Light No Light" --- and her foot was bleeding! Oh dear, what can I say? Impressive. Very inspiring.
A stunning tour programme (high quality prints):

Joey Yung "joey&joey - the music video collections of twentyeleven" Karaoke DVD

容祖兒 Joey&Joey
the music video collections of twentyeleven

MV Karaoke DVD

A lovely wallpaper-like slipcase (with nice matte / wallpaper-feel surface), along with a cardboard design disc tray, plus 20 pages mini photobook and a lyrics poster = definately the most interesting packaging and design amongst her other Karaoke DVD series.

While the music videos are ok but none are her best. I'm surprised to see that they shot different video for both Cantonese and Mandarin ver of 花千樹 [One Flower and A Thousand Trees] instead of commonly recycling the same footage, and both looks good. While the extended version of 牆紙 [Wallpaper] is merely additing some additional footages from the original shoot, no dialogue nor interesting plot. Other that that, most of the music videos are on her Official YouTube page. So this product is really meant for fans and maybe for those who love the album and wanted to sing-along with visual on the screen (well, honestly I think the songs are pretty good, especially Track 2,5,6,7,8).
Overall, it's nice to see that she've done so many music videos for her album anyway.

3.5 out of 5 overall (concept, videos, packaging).

The Saturdays "Notorious" signed CD single + OUR STORY!

'Closer baby, look in my eyes, do you recognise me?
I've been a bad girl, I'm a bad girl, I'm Notorious'

It's here, the signed CD of "Notorious"!
And also "The Saturdays: Our Story" that comes with their story (obviously) and tons of photos too. It's printed in high quality paper and weight approx. 2kg! Heavy heavy!

Technically I intended to get the book on eBay, won it at a great price, and then asked the seller if s/he have other items of the group, replied with a list, and then I decided to add the single into my 'cart' too lol.
£2.06 (my winning bid for the book) + £8 ("Notorious" CD) + £14 (air mail postage from the UK) = £24.06.
Dear postage =_=

Check my previous post for the music video :)
