MOULIN ROUGE! Limited Blu-ray'n'Book Edition (Australian Digibook)

This is probably the greatest movie I've ever watched. I love the songs in the movie; the casts and production crews are brilliant and talented; the visual 'feast' effects and sets are stunning; and the theme of the movie 'Freedom, Beauty, Truth and Love' is just amazing. I've watched the movie probably more than 10 times and still not feeling bored of it - and keep recommending my friends to watch it even after 10 years after it's initial release.

Well, I always wanted to get the Blu-ray edition so that I could enjoy the high quality visual of this movie, glad that I saw an ad that informing the (then-up)coming release of this movie in Limited Digibook Edition in JB Hi-Fi's Stack Magazine, then I've been keeping an eye on the shelf whenever I'm going to the stores. And finally, I got it, AUD22.98 best price.

The overall digibook design could have been better without the ugly and distracting Blu-ray label, and should have slightly smaller Moulin Rouge! logo and the classification label (best without it at all!) on the cover.

The exclusive booklet is not as great as what I expected, only 12 pages and mostly low quality pictures (seems they screencapped those images from the video), I reckon' official promotional photos or unseen photos should be used instead of those. I found that technically France has released this Digibook edition first, so probably this is just a reproduction of it in English... but at least they used gold colour Blu-ray label which I think much better than this :p

As for the movie wise, the main movie's video and audio quality is excellent, however the special features are mostly taken from DVD (please note that there are some special features that originally included in the DVD are not in the Blu-ray), and also, the video resolution for those videos are quite bad (they even displays those videos in a frame-like box that covers almost half of the screen, so annoying).

Anyway, overall, this is one of the best movies I've ever watched. I own the Malaysian 2-disc DVD edition, Hong Kong VCD edition, and this Collector's Edition Blu-Ray - which should have a better design and packaging. 4 out of 5 star for the whole thing (movie, packaging, and features).
